Do you ever find it frustrating to actually enjoy the photos you’ve taken with your phone?

If you’re like me, you take most of your photos with your smartphone. I love taking photos… but ever since we started using more and more complicated phones I find it hard to actually enjoy the photos. The ones I put on Facebook and Instagram are still there, but it’s hard to find and share old photos.

The other day I was looking back at my grandson’s graduation. I wanted to print off a few photos for him… but I couldn’t find them.

What was the point of taking all those photos when I can’t even find the one I want! I was digging through thousands of photos, hundreds of duplicates and I couldn’t find the ones I was looking for!

I started to panic. Did I delete them by accident? My phone was almost out of space… so it’s possible I deleted some old photos and videos to make more room.

It got me thinking. If my phone was to get lost, stolen or even damaged… I’d lose all of these photos — these memories!

It seems so difficult these days to get digital photos out into the real world. It’s not like it used to be when I would take my roll of film to the store to have the photos developed.

The photos end up sitting on your phone until the end-of-days… or until you replace the phone… and end up losing them all.

If you’re like me… you like to make sure you’ll never lose a precious memory. But with technology changing every day, it’s hard to keep up. First it’s a USB cord, then you use bluetooth, the cloud, iTunes… it’s getting more and more difficult to get photos off of your phone. The fact is we spend more time “dealing with” the photos than actually enjoying the memories they hold.

I know firsthand how it feels to lose a precious memory.

Losing the photos of my Grandson lead me to look for solutions to this issue… how do I ensure my photo library is properly organized and secure?

That’s when I discovered the PhotoStick Mobile.

I didn’t really think it would work. It looks exactly like one of those USB sticks I’ve used a couple of times. But this one also had a smaller part that was the same size as my phone charger port.

The first thing I had to do was install the PhotoStick Mobile app (it’s on Android and iPhone). Then just plug the device into your phone, then open the app.

There’s a few options, but to start I clicked “Backup Files Now”. It gives you the option to select certain photos to backup or you can get it to scan your entire phone… this option will allow it to find every photo (spoiler alert: It will find lost photos!).

It takes a few minutes since it’s actually searching your ENTIRE phone. It goes through every megabyte, every folder, and seeks out every photo and video on your phone.

After the process, I saw that every photo I’d ever taken was on the Stick

Since I wanted to send the photos in an email, I took the device to my computer. As soon as I plugged it in to the USB port (on the side of the computer)… a folder popped up. It had every single one of my photos from the past few years.
